Aspects of Shiva: The sanctum of this temple dates from the 10th Century. It has a Plinth with lotus, leaf ornaments, but no Ambulatory. The Exterior of the sanctum has riches with eight and ten- armed images of Loard Shiva. Macmurdo, Captain James- Macmurdo first entered Kutch in the guise of Ramanandi Sadhu. He sat performing penance and chanting Ramanam in front of Madhavra’s Temple at Anjar. Here he became popularly known as Bhuriya Bawa. In 1816 Macmurdo was sent on a policital mission to Kutch to dissuade its rulers from giving shelter to the pirates. Read More.......
